Some 700 people availed of free medical dental and other frontline services during the Dia del Alcalde program in Upper Calarian Tuesday.

Spearheaded by Mayor Beng Climaco, the “Dia” program did not only offer local government services but also other government agencies such as the Philippine Marines which offered free haircut services and civic groups which sponsored the feeding program.

The barangay council, headed by Chairman El King Omaga also sponsored the free pedicure and manicure services to the residents.

The Dia del Alcalde is an outreach program initiated by the City Government in line with Mayor Climaco’s priority thrusts on security, health and education.

The array of services offered by City Government offices included medical and dental consultations, free medicines, vaccinations and other veterinary services, civil registry support, and agricultural technologies and samples.

The Dia del Alcalde is held in the different barangays in celebration of the barangay fiesta.

Last week, the “Dia” program visited Taguiti and San Jose Gusu where infrastructure projects were also turned over. — Sheila Covarrubias
