All is set for the one-month 20th Basic Sports Summer Camp 2015 dubbed as “Learn to Play Sport Program,” at the City Coliseum on April 30, this year.

This was announced by City Sports Development Officer Dr. Cecilia Atilano during the Trainor’s orientation at the City Coliseum the other day.

A total of 26 individual and group events will see action at the playing field which include archery, arnis, athletics, badminton, baseball, basketball, body building, boxing, chess, dancesports, football, gymnastics, judo, karatedo, muaythai, pencaksilat, sepaktakraw, softball, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball, weightlifting, wrestling and wushu.

“This is open to all school age children and free of charge,” Dr. Atilano said as she appealed to the parents to let their children join the City Government’s sports program which will start during the opening program on Apri l30, 2015 at 9 a.m at the City Coliseum.

Project Director of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Pinay Volleyball League 2015 and BatangPinoy National Atty. Jay Alano as guest during the orientation seminar lauded the city government and the more than  100 participants.

“This is the only city that sponsors and properly funds sports development program. The trainers are dedicated to show our young talents for the trainings and teachings for the different sport events to hone their skills,” Alano said.

Councilor Elong Natividad, chairman of the City Council’s Committee on Youth and Sports, also inspired the participants during the orientation proper.

“Let’s not stop in developing young athletes who would like to excel in their respective talents on sport events. Let’s continue on learning and to be a model to them by way of our teachings and participation on the said sports program,” Natividad said.
