VP Elago eyes dev’t of Eleven group of islands PDF Print E-mail

Councilor Vincent Paul “VP “ Elago, chairman of the City Council’s Committee  of Tourism, announced yesterday that he is preparing a project plan for tourism development in some isles at the Eleven group of islands in the vicinity of the Sacol Group of islands.

Elago explained that once the Eleven group of islands is  developed, it will have potenctials to become  tourists destination for locals and other people from different places in the country as well as foreign tourists.

Elago said if the placed will be visited by tourists and holiday makers, it will give opportunity to the people living in the area to engage in appropriate  business  which uplift their economic activities.

According to the councilor, he is joining hands in this endeavor with Councilor Gerry “Totong” Perez, who is the chairman of the Council’s Committee on Peace and Order.

“We are making the master plan of the tourism project and Councilor Perez is very important because tourism needs security. Once it will be realized, people will have the opportunity to explore the beautiful beaches of Eleven Islands,” Elago said.

He added that beaches in the Eleven group of islands are among the most beautiful beaches in countries,” Elago said.

Elago also said that once the project plan is completed, it will be presented to Mayor Beng Climaco prior to coming up a legislation on the matter.

Meanwhile,  Elago said that he has sponsored a resolution recently for the putting up of WIFI signal in the different tourist spots including Paseo del Mar and Jardin de Maria Clara L. Lobregat in Pasonanca.

According to him, Globe-TELCOM supported his project. Top officials of the firm from Manila and Davao City  came in the city recently and gave their go signal and support for the project as gesture of goodwill. — Allen Abastillas
