Police and military authorities in the city have strengthened coordination as well as augmentation of forces in strategic areas as part of the fortified security measures in the city.

This, as Mayor Beng Climaco emphasized strict coordination among all security units to ensure continued and maximum preventive security and safety response with the local government unit.

City Police Director PSSupt. Angelito Casimiro said security is continuously being beefed up in the light of challenges besetting the city. Security patrols and checkpoints and other security measures through the PUMA or Pulisya, Militar at Army concept are continuously fortified.

The Marine Battalion Landing Team 1 has been replaced by MBLT-9 with LtCol. Enstein Calaoa Jr. as commanding officer.

Calaoa together with Casimiro paid a courtsy visit on Acting Mayor Cesar Iturralde Monday afternoon in City Hall where they discussed about security and public safety,  which remains to be the Climaco administration’s priority.

Casimiro said the replacement of MBLT-1 with MBLT-9 will not in any way the implementation of an integrated and comprehensive security plan in the city as all police, military and other  law enforcement agencies remain committed in the performance of their duty.
