The Land Transportation Office-9’s Zamboanga City District Office has increased its revenue collection for the period of January to May this year as compared to the same period last year.

LTO9 ZCDO Head Noel M. Noche reported to LTO-9 Director Aminola P. Abaton that collection for the month of May alone increased by 17% . Target collection for May was only P7,661,655.

Meanwhile, Noche lauded Police Regional Office-9 Director Chief Supt. Elpidio Z. De Asis Jr. for not restricting motorvehicles conducting business with the Highway Patrol Group 9 and Crime Laboratory  9 Office.

He said the two PNP offices at Camp Batalla are part of the registration and renewal process for motorvehicles which is part of the income generating sources of the government.

Noche said that HPG-9 and Crime Laboratory are the only offices of the PNP that can issue motorvehicle clearancewhich is vital to motorvehicle registration and renewal, transfer of ownership.

The two offices issue clearances with stencils of the chassis and engine numbers of motorvehicles which were legitimately purchased and not “hot” cars.
On the other hand,  LTO-9’s Regional Law Enforcement Division Chief Olloy Jalaluddin reported to Abaton that due to the joint operations with the Zamboanga City Traffic Police Office, revenue collection on enforcement of penalties against motorvehicles that violated the Traffic Code and other pertinent laws has gone up to P475,910. for the month of May as compared to only P334, 350 for April. — Allen Abastillas
