A farm caretaker was shot and wounded in their residence in Vitali last Friday night.
The victim was identified as Legario Mardejilla. He sustained a slight gunshot wound in the face.

Initial investigation disclosed that Mardejilla was cooking food for dinner around 7:30 p.m. when a gunman appeared and shot him.
Although wounded in the face, Mardehjilla managed to grab a flashlight and flashed it at the gunman but the latter hurriedly left the place.

The victim told the police that he heard foot steps leaving the place while he was pointing the flashlight at the gunman.
Mardejilla was in stable condition when he reported the incident to the police.

Police said that Mardejilla failed to recognize the gunman due to darkness.
