Marine clubbed, injured; perpetrators take 3 guns PDF Print E-mail

A marine was clubbed and seriously wounded by unidentified persons who later took several firearms at the Philippine Marines headquarters in Cabatangan the other day.

A police report disclosed that Tiburcio Licuanan Jr., 47, appeared at the Sta. Maria Police Station 7 and reported that his companion SSgt. Reydinel Dagasdas was found unconscious and blooded while on sentinel duty.

During ocular inspection, police found out that three guns — M16 rifle with serial number 047700, a shotgun and a .45 Caliber pistol were missing.

The report said that 9:35 in the evening of May 9,the incoming duty sentinel MSgt. Octavio discovered Dagasdas bloodied and unconscious inside his post without any firearms and believed to have been struck  with a hard object by unidentified persons.

The victim was rushed to the Wesmincom for emergency treatment before transferring him to  the Zamboanga City Medical Center and then to the Western Mindanao Medical Center.

Police along with marines have launched an investigation to unmask and arrest the culprits. – Dan Toribio Jr.
