Government operatives recovered a stolen car along Gov. Camins Avenue around 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Highway Patrol Group-9 Sr. Insp. Mervin Claret disclosed that in a joint operation with the Law Enforcement Division of Land Transportation Office-9 and men of Zamboanga City Police Office, a black Toyota sedan was stopped for violation of unauthorized improvised plate number.

When the driver, a certain  A. T Usab , was asked to show documents, he presented his driver license and a spurious document of the unit. Usab is living in Baliwasan Seaside. He  is a member of the  Philippine Army based in Marawi City.

When Claret checked the car with the HPG Vehicle Information Management System, it was found out that the Toyota sedan is in the list of stolen and carnapped motorvehicles under alarm number 2014-0212-945. It is owned by a certain  A.M Dela Cruz of  Fourth District, Makati City. The car was reported stolen on February 3, 2013 while parked in  Makati City.

HPG-9 Chief Sr. Supt. Severino B. Aguistin directed Claret to impound the car and conduct  further investigation as well as coordinate with the Police Regional Office -9 Crime Laboratory for the macro-etching examination. — Allen Abastillas
