Police intercept two trucks loaded with illegally cut trees PDF Print E-mail

A police team from the Zamboanga City Public Safety Company under by Supt. Ariel Huesca intercepted two trucks carrying suspected illegally cut trees along Veterans Avenue Thursday night.

A police report disclosed that Huesca and his men were conducting mobile patrol around 8:40 p.m. when they spotted two drop pside KIA Bongo and  Isuzu loaded with lumber and were runningly recklessly on the road.

Huesca and his men chased and cornered the two trucks.

During inspection, the truck drivers presented documents from City Environment and Natural Resources legalizing the transport of the lumber.

However Huesca found out that in the document it stated only plant trees are allowed to transport.

Huesca further discovered that the two trucks were also loaded with other cut trees not stated in the permit from the CENRO.

The trucks along with the cut trees were taken to the ZCPSC for proper disposition.

Huesca identified the truck drivers as Rodel Espinosa Alvarez of Dulian, Upper Bunguiao, driving the Isuzu drop side truck with plate number JEY 355, registered under the name of Crichton Motor Sales Corporation in San Jose Gusu and Garry Ledesma Eugenio of Calabasa, driving the KIA Bongo with plate number KFV 988 registered under the name of Pacita Quijardo of Pagadian City. — Dan Toribio
