Miñoza wins Bella y Flores festival 2015 PDF Print E-mail

Designer Erich Miñoza emerged as the top winner for the 13th Bellas y Flores festival held Friday, May 22 at the City Hall grounds.

Miñoza’s designs garnered top marks and drew cheers from the local crowd as it took home the first prize for both gown and the arco categories.

As grand winner, Miñoza bagged Php 20,000.00 for his first place finish in the gown competition, and Php 15,000.00 for the arco competition.

A total of seven designers competed in the annual fashion and design competition which showcases the City’s colorful and elegant culture as well as the craftsmanship of Zamboangueño designers.

Emerging as runner-ups were Raustin Siocon and Neri Jaruda who placed second and third for the gown category, and third and second for the arco category, respectively.

Meanwhile, Sharmaine dela Cruz was crowned as the Prettiest Señorita with Lyka Nicole Francisco and Victoria Guingona claiming the second and third spots.

Gown entries were judged for their craftsmanship, concept and design, aesthetic appeal, and impact. Arco entries, on the other hand, were scrutinized for originality, creativity, craftsmanship, and impact.

Also recognized during the 13th Bella y Flores festival were the winners of the recently concluded Dia de General Vicente Alvarez Photo Essay competition.

Dionebeth Naigar’s black and white portraits claimed the top spot of the photo essay tilt on the theme “Footprints of the General: Bravery in the Face of Adversity for Positive Revolutions of Change”.

Bringing up the second and third place finish were the entries of Abdel Aziz Masjiril and Raemond Angelo Karagdag. — Jasmine Mohammadsali
