Police intelligence operatives have arrested two suspected human traffickers and rescued four victims of human trafficking in this city, an official announced Wednesday.

Supt. Diomarie Albarico, Police Station 7 chief, identified the arrested human trafficking suspects as Joana Marie Sarao and Juanito Tubog Jr., both residents of Sitio Luyahan, Barangay Pasonanca, this city.

Albarico said two other companions of the suspects namely Cocong Agpasa and a certain Amy remain at large since they were not around during the arrest of Sarao and Tubog.

Albarico said the suspects were arrested and the victims were rescued around 4 a.m. Sunday by intelligence personnel led by SPO4 Ruben Najirul in Sitio Luyahan, Barangay Pasonanca.

Albarico said two of the four rescued victims, whose age range from 29 to 34, are from Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte while the other two are from Muntinlupa City and Surigao del Norte.

He said they were turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) while appropriate charges are set to be filed against the suspects.
