DOLE-Lobregat’s GIP starts June 1 PDF Print E-mail

The second batch of the Government Internship Program (GIP) spearheaded by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in partnership with District 1 Congressman Celso L. Lobregat kicks off yesterday, Monday, June 1st.

A total of 38 young job-seekers employed under the program were sworn-into office on Saturday, May 30, by Congressman Lobregat,

This followed the briefing conducted by Engr. Wesley Tan, Chief Labor and Employment Officer and head, DOLE-Zamboanga City Field Office, Ms. Sylvia Delos Santos, Labor and Employment Officer V and focal person for GIP and Kit Barredo of the Congressional Office.

The new batch of Interns will render service for 6 months or an equivalent of 132 days and will receive compensation at Php. 210.00 per day.

They were deployed in different National and Local government offices/agencies during their employment period.

DOLE Regional Director SISINIO CANO earlier signed a memorandum of Understanding with Cong. Celso L. Lobregat for the implementation of the GIP in district 1 of this city as provided under Administrative Order 29-A series of 2014.

The GIP provides young workers particularly those belonging to poor/indigent families, the opportunity to demonstrate their talents and skills in the field of public service with the ultimate objective of attracting the best and brightest who want to pursue a career in government service.
