All of Highway Patrol Group’s regional commands in the country  have started implementing “Oplan Balik Eskwela 2015” in connection with the school opening on June 1, 2015.

Sr. Supt. Severino B.  Agustin, HPG- 9 chief,  said a Letter of  Instruction has been issued by HPG Officer-in-Charge based in Camp Crame directing all regional commands to conduct road safety preventive measures and assist traffic within their respective areas of jurisdiction, especially where there are schools, colleges and universities along national highways.

Agustin said all provincial teams in Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi are on red alert following the twin explosion that ripped through a police camp in Asturias, in Jolo, Sulu on May 29, 2015 leaving five civilians and 10  police personnel including a Special Action Force Senior Inspector wounded.    Another Fragmentation grenade exploded in front of the Ayala Police Station in this city around 1:00 p.m. on Monday, No one was reported hurt.

Agustin directed HPG-9 personnel  to be extra careful and vigilant at all cost to ensure their safety  in the performance of their task and mission.

He also reminded his men to always coordinate with the local government units in their AOR, the local traffic section and other government forces.

Meanwhile, the Zamboanga del Sur HPG Team led  Chief. Insp. Joseph Fontanilla, while conducting a joint operations on anti-carnapping  and law enforcement operations recently  with the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Provincial Public Safety  Company and Pagadian City Police Station troopers,  arrested the No. 2 wanted person in Tangub City. Robil V. Roa is wanted for a crime of murder in Tangub City. The warrant of arrest was issued by Judge Sylvia A. Singdas- Machacon of Regional trail Court of Region 10 Branch 16 Tangub City. Also recovered from Roa is a blue Hyundai Starex with plate number  KEP 844. He was locked up at the cell of Camp Abelon in Pagadian City. —  Allen Abastillas
