Men of the Culianan Police Station and Kabasalan Muncipal Police Station arrested a man who stole two passengers jeepneys last Friday.

A police report identified the suspect as Ramil Baricuatro of Pagadian City.

Investigation disclosed that Baricuatro stole the PUJ of a policeman in Baliwasan and similar vehicle of Barangay Kagawad Ronel Cabreros of Cabaluay.

Police said that Cabreros discovered his PUJ missing around 6 p.m. after he parked it along the highway in Culianan. At the same time he discovered another PUJ parked near their residence. He reported it to the Culianan Police Station.

Culianan Police Station chief, Sr. Insp. Elmer Solon conducted a follow-up operation in coordination with other police stations in nearby provinces.

After spreading alarm/report, men of the Kabasalan Municipal Police Station led by Insp. Dexter Gumahob Adrias conducted a spot checkpoint, intercepted the stolen vehicle of Cabreros and arrested Baricuatro.

It was learned that Baricuatro stole first the PUJ of a policeman in Baliwasan and drove it to the east coast. However upon reaching Culianan, the vehicle suffered engine trouble so he stopped along the road.

Then Baricuatro saw Cabreros’PUJ and drove it aiming for Pagadian City as he claimed that he wanted to go home to their province.

Baricuatro was detained at the Culianan Police Station while appropriate charges were being readied against him. – Dan Toribio Jr.
