A 32-year-old man died after his home-made shotgun called sumpak accidentally went off hitting him while drinking in Eagle, Cabatangan last Saturday night.

Ronald Ragomeo sustained pellet wounds in the chest and was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

Police said that Ragomeo together with Willy Jumaani and Romy Boy Sagun, were drinking around 9:50 p.m. when his sumpak went off after falling on the ground,

Ragomeo was rushed to the Western Mindanao Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival.

Police recovered the improvised shotgun with an empty shell at the crime scene.

Witnesses told the police that Ragomeo was carrying his sumpak while drinking with his friends.

The sumpak was turned over to investigators as investigation was still ongoing. – Dan Toribio Jr.
