A security guard was brutally killed in his post in an unoccupied building owned by the Universidad de Zamboanga in San Jose Cawa-Cawa yesterday early morning.

The fatality was identified as Jul Muksin Abani, 40, married, of the Morning Star Security Agency. He sustained head fractures and died on the spot.

Abani was discovered dead by his co-security guard around 7 a.m. yesterday inside the NEDA building sold to UZ.

Police said that Ridwan Ali, also of the same agency, was about to report for duty as the incoming security guard when he found Abani dead with his feet tied while his head was smashed.

During police ocular investigation, Abni’s sling bag was discovered missing and believed to have been taken by the killers.

Investigators suspected that Abani was killed before sunrise Sunday.

Police were still working on the case. —  Dan Toribio Jr
