Police are investigating a case involving a person who was reported missing since Saturday afternoon.

The missing person was identified as Rolando Ramos Mendoza Jr., 44, of Little Tondo, Barangay San Roque.

A police report disclosed that Abdul Raouf Tan, 20, reported to the police that Mendoza, his stepfather, went missing after he was taken by two men aboard a Pajero.

According to Tan, Mendoza was walking towards V Mart together with his daughter Anna Dominique around 3 p.m. when Hadji Dada Omar and Hadji Radzmir Omar aboard a parked Pajero called and engaged him in a conversation. Moments later, Mendoza was invited to ride on the Pajero that sped towards the downtown Zamboanga.

It was past 9 p.m. when Mendoza failed to return home that prompted Tan to report the incident to the police.

Meanwhile, Arnel Dela Vega, 28, a resident of Callejon Drive, Barangay Guiwan, was recovered at Logoy Grande, Barangay Talon-Talon, around 9 a.m. Saturday after he went missing for two days.

A police report disclosed that Arnel went to Talon-Talon with Mark Torres last June 11 but when they were at the said place, Torres’ two companions whom  he knew by face, were talking and planning to kill him.

At this point, Arnel ran away and hid amid mangroves for two days before he was found last Saturday morning. – Dan Toribio Jr.
