Fast police response: Stolen bike recovered PDF Print E-mail

Operatives of the Sangali Police Station led by Chief Insp. Elmer Acuna recovered a stolen motorcycle from armed motorcycle thieves, few minutes after they took it from its owner in Barangay Cabaluay last Wednesday night.

City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo disclosed that aside from the stolen motorcycle, another one owned by the suspects was also recovered during a hot pursuit operation.

De Ocampo said that around 5:30 p.m., Wilfredo Galvez Jr., married, 26, married, a resident of Purok 8, Cabaluay, was washing his XRM motorcycle when two men armed with handguns aboard another XRM motorcycle appeared and forcibly took it at gun point.
Galvez immediately reported the incident to SPO1 Noel Fernando, the policeman on duty at the Police Action Center and to Cabaluay Barangay Chairman Maco Apolinario.

The incident was also responded by other policemen under the Sangali Police Station led by Acuna. They chased the suspects in the interior portion of Sitio Pook, Cabaluay. The suspects opened fire on the policemen triggering a brief of exchange of gunfire, during which the suspects escaped amid bushes leaving behind their motorcycle as well as the other motorcycle taken from Galvez.

The stolen motorcycle with plate number 2256-JN and the other one belonging  to the suspects with plate number 9787 were taken to the Sangali Police Station for investigation.

De Ocampo said the Sangali police led by Acuna were still on hot pursuit operation against the suspects. — Dan Toribio Jr.
