A man wanted for double murder in Zamboanga City was arrested last Sunday after hiding for nine years in Sibuco, Zamboanga del Norte.

Sr. Insp. Elmer Perez Solon, chief of the Culianan based  Police Station 4 identified the arrested person as Esmer Delos Reyes Miguel, married, a native of Salaan, this city.

Solon said Miguel had a pending warrant of arrest for double murder issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 16.  The crime of murder is non bailable.

A police report disclosed that Miguel had killed his uncle and the latter’s son with the use of a .38 revolver in Salaan sometime in 2007

After the incident, Miguel escaped on foot, trekking the highland in Salaan and ended up  in Sibuco where he stayed and married a woman in Barangay Sto. Niño, Sibuco.

Solon said they proceeded to Barangay Sto. Niño after receiving a report that Miguel was staying and hiding in the said place.

Miguel was detained at the Police Station 4 pending his turnover to the court. – Dan Toribio Jr.
