Three more would-be victims of human trafficking have been rescued by government forces in fresh operation last June 29.

The three female would to be victims were bound for Sabah, Malaysia when they were rescued in Barangay Sta. Maria.

Philippine Center on Transnational Crimes Western Mindanao Field Office reported that the three victims, aged 18 to 25,  came from Lanao del Norte and Zamboanga del Norte.

Investigation disclosed that  the recruiter enticed the three to work as domestic helpers in Sabah, Malaysia, without knowing they would end up in prostitution dens as recounted by some victims who were rescued previously by government forces.

Investigation also revealed that the suspected illegal recruiters are the same persons who recruited some previous victims.

The modus operandi of the recruiters involves changing the places where they keep the victims before leaving for Sabah, Malaysia.

The victims were brought to government shelter and undergoing counseling before they will be sent back  to their home provinces. — Allen Abastillas
