Three trucks loaded with illegally cut trees were intercepted in separate occasions last Thursday.

At 3:20 p.m., men of the same station led by Insp.Rodolfo Gonzales put up a checkpoint along Lobregat Highway in Barangay Culianan, where they apprehended an Isuzu Canter with temporary plate number  090108 loaded with 1,214.83 board feet of assorted lumber and was driven by Jose Nonito Castro Iturralde.

Solon said that both drivers failed to present pertinent documents for the cargo.

The trucks along with the lumber were impounded at the Police Station 4 pending its turnover to the DENR for legal action.

On the same day at 1:24 p.m. members of Arcillas COMPAC led by Sr. Hingming Ladjaali apprehended a truck bearing plate number JVG 528  loaded with different sizes of mahogany, malambuaya, wani and gmelina.

The lumber flitches were allegedly owned by Limberato Gorit, a resident of Barangay Labuan, this City. – Dan Toribio Jr.
