Mayor Beng Climaco joined residents of Guiwan Thursday to facilitate the rollout of the Dia de Alcalde caravan services.

At least a hundred residents availed of the whole array of medical, dental, civil registry, and agriculture services that were provided by the caravan team free of charge.

Among the free services offered during the outreach mission were medical and dental services, distribution of medicines and vitamins, farming technology demonstrations, veterinary services such as anti-rabies vaccinations, and civil registration activities.

A part of the local government’s thrust to bring mission-critical services closer to the people, the Dia de Alcalde is a conducted regularly as a continued social support program to barangays.

In keeping with her priorities of Security, Health, and Education (SHE), Climaco coaxed residents to be alert and vigilant, and to be prepared for emergencies in light of the start of the rainy season.

Climaco likewise tasked barangay leaders to patrol and monitor their area of responsibility and when necessary, function as force-multipliers and front-liners in times of emergencies.

Accompanying the chief executive were the teams from different local government offices, City officials, and barangay leaders headed by Guiwan chairperson Samuel P. Natividad. — Jasmine Mohammasali
