5 ‘lawless persons’ nabbed in Ipil operation; guns seized PDF Print E-mail

Government forces arrested five “lawless persons” and confiscated from them guns during an operation in barangay Tenan, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay last Friday afternoon.

A police report disclosed that soldiers of the army’s  44th Infantry Battalion, 17th Special Forces Company, policemen frm Regional Public Safety Battalion 9, ZamboangaSibugay Public Safety Company and 9th Intelligence Service Unit, swooped down on the hideout of Ibni Basaluddin and Sabtal Taha and searched the place on the  strength of a court warrant.

A sketchy police report disclosed that five followers of the two sub-leaders of a lawless group were arrested. Confiscated were a M16 rifle; a hand grenade and a .45 caliber pistol.

Basaluddin was facing murder charge, while Taha was wanted for attempted murder.

The suspects placed under police custody for the filing of charges in court.
