by Allen  AThe Highway Patrol Group-9 has intensified its anti-carnapping operations and operations against wanted persons.

Sr. Supt. Joel R. Dimaano, HPG-9 newly-assumed chief,  said as directed by the HPG National Headquarters in Camp Crame, aside from full force implementation of anti-carnapping operations, all regional commands  nationwide are directed to arrest suspected  lawless persons or fugitives of law  who have standing warrants of arrest. It must carried out in coordination with the local and regional police commands.

“We closely monitor Dapitan  City port as it connects Region 9 and Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi as part of our areas of jurisdiction and it is connected to Zamboanga City. The region is easily connected to  Davao City, Cotabato and other parts of Mindanao and it is used by carnappers,” Dimaano said.

Dimaano took over the HPG-9 post vice Sr. Supt. Severino B. Agustin who assumed as the new chief of HPG -6 based in Iloilo City.

Dimaano is a graduate of Philippine National Police Academy Class 1989. His former assignment was in HPG National Headquarters as Chief of Investigation. He other previous assignmens were in Region 12, Davao City and Cotabato City. He is Agustin’s PNPA classmate. — Allen Abastillasbastillas
