Acting Mayor Cesar Iturralde has commended the multi-agency Sea-based Anti-Trafficking Task Force (SBATTF) for the successful operation in Mampang Tuesday that resulted to in the rescue of 36 individuals some female minors and the arrest of Malaysian recruiters and facilitators.

The operation also resulted to the recovery of 114 passports and documents required for the application of passports.

“We thank the combined elements of law enforcers from the SBATTF that spearheaded the operation,” Iturralde said stressing that the anti-trafficking campaign saved lives of innocent individuals.

He said the multi-agency task force has been very consistent in its campaign and has successfully foiled evil plans of heartless human traffickers. “This operation will definitely send the signal to others involved in such illegal trade to slow down if not stop their illicit activities.”

He urged the authorities to pursue with the case against the culprits and to continue with their vigilance against these malefactors.

The operation in a house in Mampang was a based on a tip from concerned citizens. A total of 36 individuals were rescued- 22 of them adults and 15 minors and were bound for Malaysia. Some of them are Jolo.
