460 sacks of smuggled rice abandoned on shore seized PDF Print E-mail

Men of the Labuan Police Station led by Sr. Insp. Raymond Sanson recovered 460 sacks of smuggled rice abandoned along the shore of Sitio Malandi, Patalon last Sunday morning.

Police said that fishermen spotted an unidentified vessel with crew unloading sacks of rice around 8:30 a.m.

It was reported to the police and while responding to the report, the vessel along with the crew left the place abandoning the 460 sacks of rice.

Sanson said after proper inventory, they turned over the rice cargo to the Bureau of Customs for proper disposition.

Meanwhile, operatives of the Ayala Police Station led by Sr. Isnp.Karib Muharram arrested Alan Isnain, 41, of Purok 2 Recodo around 11 a.m.  last Sunday.

Isnain’s arrest was made on the strength of a warrant for violation of Republic Act 9165  issued on June 22, 2015 with no bail bond recommended.

The warrant was issued by Judge Eric Elumba of the Regional Trial Court Branch 13.

Isnain was detained at the Ayala Police Station and later was turned over to the court for preparatory to his commitment to the Zamboanga City City Jail. – Dan Toribio Jr.
