A first year computer network engineering student was shot and wounded by one of two gunmen along Legionaire Street in Sta. Barbara at dawn yesterday.

The victim was identified as Hadzfar Aharaja y Alfad, 20, single,  of Barangay Cawit and temporarily residing at Legionaire St., Sta. Barbara, particularly at the former office of the Maritime Police

Initial investigation disclosed that Ahraja was on his way home from an internet café along Pilar St. around 12:30 a.m., when two men riding tandem on a motorcycle appeared and the backrider  shot him several timesnear the Land Transportation Office.

The victim was hit on the right leg and back hip.

Police said the assailants sped away after Aharaja fell on the ground.

Investigators recovered six spent shells and one slug of .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.

Insp. Albert Alfaro, chief of Central Police Station investigation unit, said thaqt he and his men were still working on the case. – Dan Toribio  Jr.
