Six persons, including a policeman, were arrested in two separate anti-drug operations carried out Sunday by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and men of Police Station 8.

PDEA agents under Regional Director Joseph Latip and men of the Sinunuc Police Station led by Sr. Insp. Hingming Ladjaali conducted a buy-bust operation around 3 p.m. in Lower Calarian resulting in the arrest of Abdurijal Jikiri alias Aya, Abdurasal Alih alias  Barok, hit man of a drug group, Rowel Yusop alias Sarge, a discharged military man and Gary Kalom.

Confiscated by PDEA and police during the operation were P2,000 marked money, shabu weighing 7.5 grams with estimated market value of P10,000 and several drug paraphernalia.

In the evening of the same day, PDEA agents arrested PO2 Renato Española Agil of the Maneuver Platoon in Lanao del Sur and Alvin Alian Hassan, both of Mampang. They were nabbed at a checkpoint manned by PDEA, Task Force Zamboanga and local police.

PDEA had earlier received a report that two men were had shabu in their possession aboard a motorcycle heading for Mampang.

Immediately, the PDEA agents coordinated with the police and military an put up a spot checkpoint in in Talon-Talon where Agil and Hassan passed later.

The duo did not stop and sped away but when near the Talon-Talon Elementary School their motorcycle crashed due to the rough road.

PDEA, police and military personnel held them and during inspection, they yielded 50 grams of shabu and a 9mm pistol issued to Agil by the PNP headquarters. However, Agil cound not produce papers for the gun.
