Lamitan City police stumbled into an arms cache during a drug buy-bust operation in which a  46-year-old man arrested in Barangay Malinis

Aside from 18 sachets of shabu, policemen under Lamitan City police chief Sr. Insp. Gean Gallardo seized 29 different firearms from the house of Ernesto Nicolas, jobless in Barangay Malinis.

Also seized were 57 assorted ammos, 8 assorted magazines and a grenade.

Gallardo said the recovery of the firearms during the buy bust operation was incidental as they were displayed inside the house.

The confiscated items were still being processed by the Lamitan Police Station after the buy-bust operation at 3 p.m.

The operation was coordinated with the PDEA. OIC, BPPO, is supervising the investigation by SOCO and Lamitan police.

In Zamboanga City, men were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Zambowood last Wednesday night.

Nabbed were Mohammad Paligsa Mijan alias Jay, 31, Andun Dela Cruz Taribul alias Kulot, 39, Larry Silay Vilbar, 33, and Bang Basher Husin Taribul, 22, all residents of Zone 4, Zambowood.

The four were arrested by men of the Divisoria Police Station under Sr. Insp. Arlan Delumpines around 8 p.m.

Confiscated from their possession were six sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, four cellphones and marked money.

Delumpines said the suspects were detained at the police station while the seized items were forwarded to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for examinations.
