Forty-two families from the Taluksangay Transitory Site yesterday afternoon received the financial assistance extended by the local government, through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), to IDP families returning to permanent homes.

City caretaker Vice Mayor Cesar Iturralde facilitated the turnover of Php 10,000.00 to each family at the City Hall conference room, and urged recipients to utilize the provided cash assistance properly.

Prior to the turnover, a brief orientation was conducted by Assistant City Social Welfare Officer Leonida Bayan on the intended purpose of the cash support.

The financial assistance, a part of the support packages provided by the local government to assist IDPs, is intended for the installation of vital utilities, specifically light and water connections, to the house of each family.

Earlier this week, ten families received the Php 10,000.00 cash aid in a ceremonial turnover facilitated by Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Dinky Soliman on Monday, July 20.
