Celso: 11 District 1 sitios energized by Zamcelco PDF Print E-mail

Zamboanga City Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ZAMCELCO) reported to District 1 Representative Celso Lobregat the list of energized sitios under his District.

In its letter dated 24 July 2015, signed by General Manager Engr. George Ledesma, ZAMCELCO informed Lobregat on the sitios that have been energized under the Sitio Electrification Program (SEP) of the National Government under the General Appropriations Act (GAA) Subsidy Funded of year 2013 and 2014.

Rep. Lobregat is the Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Appropriations tasked to sponsor the budget of the energy cluster which include the Department of Energy (DOE), National Electrification Administration (NEA), Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation (PSALM), National Transmission Corporation (TRANSCO), National Power Corporation (NPC), Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) and the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).

Lobregat has been constantly coordinating with ZAMCELCO and NEA for the completion of the electrification program.

Under the 2013 SEP GAA Subsidy, the following sitios were energized: Tabukan, Tulungatung (project cost: PhP1,293,728.76 with 30 beneficiaries, energized on April 1, 2015); Zone 7, Tulungatung (project cost: PhP591,616.36 with 8 beneficiaries, energized on April 1, 2015); Purok 3, Pantano, Malagutay (project cost: PhP688,256.07 with 26 beneficiaries, energized on April 15, 2015); Udjung, Baluno (project cost: PhP1,350,882.94 with 16 beneficiaries, energized on April 24, 2015); and Sunset View, Cabatangan (project cost: PhP724,161.29 with 11 beneficiaries, project completed pending with membership problem of CSVUPAI).

Under the 2014 SEP GAA Subsidy, projects were completed in the following sitios: Masalag, Limpapa (project cost: PhP1,235,996.08 with 47 potential households, completed on July 12, 2015); Purok 7, Limpapa (project cost: PhP940,906.55 with 37 potential households, completed on July 17, 2015); Cabonegro, Limpapa (project cost: PhP2,105,836.29 with 47 potential households, completed on July 22, 2015); Fairview, La Paz (project cost: PhP1,790,569.26 with 91 potential households, completed on June 26, 2015); Gagnier, La Paz (project cost: PhP1,150,038.30 with 82 potential households, completed on June 12, 2015); and Lacumba, Limpapa (project cost: PhP1,751,229.14 with 41 potential households, on-going line construction).

For the Sitios under the SEP 2014 GAA Subsidy, the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) sent by the National Electrification Administration (NEA) were received by ZAMCELCO awaiting only for the downloading of funds to implement the projects.

With the implementation of the above projects, residents in the said sitios/barangays will now enjoy electricity in their households. — Jubels Santo
