UNICEF, Beng featured in ANC’s “First 1,000 Days” PDF Print E-mail

Mayor Beng Climaco joins a panel of speakers composed of top UNICEF officials including Senator Pia Cayetano in the ANC Forum dubbed “First 1,000 Days” which tackles the importance of nutrition in the first one thousand days of a child that was first broadcast  8pm Wednesday night, July 29 over ANC (Channel 26 in Sky Cable in Zamboanga).

The broadcast replay of the panel discussion will be on Saturday, August 1 at 6pm; Sunday, August 2 at 10:30am and Monday, August 3 at 1pm.  Online livestreaming is also possible, at www.abs-cbnnews.com/live.

Mayor Climaco comes in at the last segment of the forum which has UNICEF Country Representative Lotta Sylwonder as the main speaker. Other members of the panel are Sen. Cayetano, Dr.  Anthony Kalibo of the Department of Health,  Didi Vega of the National  Nutrition Council, Dr Mianne Silvestre- a Breastfeeding Advocate and Shim Yu Hashim of the Health Organization for Mindanao (HOM).

The forum is part of UNICEF’s series of communication advocacy on the importance of nutrition in the first 1000 days of a child.

Aside from the forum, UNICEF Philippines is also engaging with media and the legislative bodies in the launch of a photo exhibit dubbed “One thousand days, One Lifetime” at the Senate on July 28 and at the House of Representatives on August 3  and the policy legislative learning sessions on “Nutrition in 1000 Days: Need to invest”  at the Senate on July 29  and at the House of Representatives on August 4 .
