More smuggled rice seized in Sinunuc shore PDF Print E-mail

Men of Police Station 8 based in Sinunuc under Sr. Insp. Hingming Ladjaali intercepted a junkung type of boat that was unloading sacks of smuggled rice along the shore of Purok 2, Sinunuc  last Tuesday night.

Ladjaali disclosed that he and his men proceeded to  the shore around 9 p.m. after receiving a report that three jungkung boats had arrived and were unloading sacks of rice.

When the police arrived, the  two jungkungs immediately sailed away while the third one with marking “Marwhiza” was cornered by the lawmen.

Ladjaali and his men also held three boat crew members  identified as Jun Dugasan, Alnadzfrin Silvin and Adding Silvin.

The boat loaded with 300 sacks of Jasmine rice was turned over to the Philippine Coast Guard based in Cawit while the three crew members  were placed under investigation pending their turnover to the Bureau of Customs for the filing of charges in court.

Two days ago. the same police team intercepted a pumpboat carrying 15 sacks of rice in two separate occasions in the same place. – Dan Toribio Jr.
