Big shabu shipment from Manila seized PDF Print E-mail

Men under City Police Director Sr. Supt. Angelito Casimiro intercepted on Tuesday a package of shabu that was shipped to Zamboanga City from Manila. \

Police said an information was earlier received about two large plastic sachets containing shabu arrivin the city via LBC forwarder aboard an early flight.

Acting on the information, the City Police Office’s anti-drug task force led by Sr. Insp. Gary T. Bahoy together with the Anti-Vice Section, AvSeGroup and PDEA 9 proceeded to  the Zamboanga Airport and coordinated with Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) for the seizure of the contraband cargo.

The PDEA-9’s  K9 sniff dog gave canine reactions the package contained narcotic items. The lawmen did not retrievethe package and instead tailed the cargo forwarder to its Mindpro branch where the consignee was designated to claim it.

Police said the shipper of the cargo was Sheena H. Usman of Bandlate, Quezon City while the consignee was Morado D. Usman,of Talon-Talon.

The lawmen waited for the consignee to claim the cargo at the LBC Mindpro branch but he did not show up until the mall’s  closing time. t this point, police and other units along with the K9 sniff dog inspected again the cargo before it was taken to the city police office.

The package with LBC No. 31160577826 containfour sleeveless shirts (sando) 2 pieces male shorts, 2 pairs of pajama, 2 Crissa blouses and  a pair of Camino sandal along with two sealed large transparent sachets of shabu. The items were wrapped with two carbon papers.

The two sachets of shabu were estimated to weigh 100 grams and were forwarded to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for examination. – Dan Toribio Jr.
