Mayor Beng Climaco commended yesterday the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) for launching the “Go Negosyo” center in the city, stressing it will help local entrepreneurs develop and improve their businesses and sources of living.

A brain child of Senator Bam Aquino, the “Go Negosyo” Center will cater to the needs of businesses in trying to find suitable markets for their products, thereby helping develop in turn the economy of Zamboanga City.

Climaco for her part rallied for the persons with disability and differently abled persons who played a vital role in the local economy.

She said Zamboanga City takes pride in its robust economy with P50 million in tax circulation every day because of the economic business activities in this part of the country.

“Zamboanga City is a trade route to Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi and the rest of the Zamboanga Peninsula. The challenge is to make sure that our clients will really make use of the ‘Go Negosyo’ center,” the chief executive said.

The “Go Negosyo” center is located at Land Bank along Veterans Avenue. Present during the launch were Sen. Bam Aquino and DTI Sec. Domingo.— Vic Larato
