‘Perya’ operator hurt in gun mishap PDF Print E-mail

A 63-year-old operator of an amusement center (perya) was wounded after the gun of his cousin accidentally went off in Tumaga last Friday morning.

Wounded was Bernardo Toribio Delos Reyes of Vitali.

Police identified the gun holder as Romeo Eijansantos Reyes, 55, of Manicahan.

Report said that Reyes was cleaning his .45 caliber pistol when he accidentally drop it. It went off after landing on the ground with the bullet hitting Delos Reyes’ right leg.  He was rushed to the Western Mindanao Medical Center for treatment.

Reyes surrendered and turned over the gun to the police. He was detained at the Sta. Maria Police Station.

It was leanedthe victim was not interested in filing charges against his cousin.

Police however readied charges of illegal possession of firearm and ammunition Reyes. – Dan Toribio Jr.
