Government forces arrested on Saturday in Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay an Abu Sayyaf member wanted for kidnapping.

Arrested was Jamil Pingli alias Jamil Alih

Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office Director Sr. Supt. Celso Bael said that Pingli was arrested by men of the Tungawan Police Station  led by Sr. Insp.  Chamer G. Lakay in Barangay Tumanggong around 10:00 in the morning.

According to Bael,  the arrest of Pingli was carried out on the strength of a warrant issued by Judge Catherine C. Fabian of the Regional Trial Court Branch 16  in Zamboanga City.on April 1, 2015 for the crime  of frustrated murder docketed under Criminal Case number 30294.

Bael said that under the warrant , a bail bond of P200,000 was recommended for Pingli’s his temporary liberty.

Pingli was tagged in the shooting of two militiamen and the kidnapping of two Chinese nationals in 2012.

The join operation for Pingli’s arrest was led by Lakay and Chief Insp. Edilberto Alvarez, Chief Intelligence Branch of Zamboanga City Police Office, Military Intelligence Group,  Lt. James Dipdip of the 6th Special Forces Battalion. — Allen Abastillas
