Beng inaugurates P9.6M Taluksangay school bldg PDF Print E-mail

Mayor Beng Climaco yesterday unveiled the newly constructed two-storey building with eight classrooms worth P9.6 million at the elementary school in Taluksangay, east of this city.

In her message, Mayor Climaco said the school building project is in line with her administration’s thrust on education with the end in view of preparing better future for the children.

She said equally important as education is human security and health, stressing that a well secured community and healthy people makes economic progress and development easier to achieve.

The chief executive also thanked the barangay officials of Taluksangay for embracing the children of families displaced by the Zamboanga siege in September 2013.

Taluksangay is one of the biggest transitory sites for IDPs while waiting for their permanent shelters in their respective places of origin.

Present during the inauguration were Congresswoman Lilia Nuño, the barangay officials of Taluksangay headed by Chairman Abdurahman Nuño, Councilor Elong Natividad.—  Vic Larato
