A former soldier of the Philippine Marines Corps was shot dead inside the house of his friend at the interior of Manggal Drive, Baliwasan yesterday afternoon.

Rogelito Baez, Jr., alias “Spike” sustained two bullet wounds in the chest and right leg. He died on the spot.

Baez was shot while he was lying on a sofa inside the house of his friend Ernesto Fernandez around 3 p.m.

Fernandez’ wife Rose told the police that Baez arrived at their house around 12 noon and waited for her husband Ernesto to arrive. He later sat and then lay down on a sofa while watching television.

Rose said she went to their neighbor’s house few meters away and around 2:30 p.m. she heard two gunshots, then found Baez bleeding and lifeless in their living room.

Policemen recovered a spent shell and a live rundof .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.

DZT gathered that Baez went to the police station 11 yesterday morning after he was linked the stealing of a motorcycle. It was learned that Baez was the subject of a  complaint after he allegedly took the motorcycle of a marines soldier few days ago.

Baez left the police station after a confrontation and proceeded to the Fernandez house where he was shot and killed.

Meanwhile, residents of Sitio Sto. Niño, Patalon recovered the body of a woman amid grasses on a hilly part last Sunday morning.

A police report disclosed that \a resident of Sitio Sto. Niño reported to the Labuan Police Station around 8:45 a.m. that the body of an unidentified woman was seen with a bleeding wound in the neck

Policemen led by Sr. Insp. Raymond Sanson proceeded to the area and found the body a slash wound in the neck.

Police said that the dead woman have no identification card in her possession.

After ocular investigation conducted by the Labuan police and SOCO, the body  was brought to the Villa Funeral Parlor for post mortem examination. – Dan Toribio
