“The people and  the community are looking at us and they expect so much, especially on the any problem on security, peace and order. They always be looking at the police. They are banking on us...We should move in and act together and be united to serve the people.”

Thus said Chief Supt. Miguel C. Antonio, newly-designated Police Regional Office-9 chief, in his message during a simple assumption ceremony at Camp Abendan, this city.yesterday.

Addressing the men and women of the PRO-9, Antonio emphasized that members of the Philippine National Police are in their positions to serve the people.

Hindi ako amo, I’m just like your supervisor, mentor, adviser and big brother. Magtulungan tayo at magtrabaho. Nakita ko ang  problema dito. Mas malaki ang problema dito kay sa taas. Todo kita trabaha, Camina kita hunto- hunto. We walk together holding hands with cross hard luck together that we  stay together and strong,”, Gen. Antonio said.

He said that the accomplishment of one unit, Chief of Police, Intelligence unit or the Provincial Office is the accomplishment of the Police Regional Office-9.

Antonio relayed to the region’s police forces the message of PNP Chief Director General Ricardo C. Marquez which he said is very simple — To bring the people close to the police and “we should do our job.”

Antonio appealed for the policemen’s support and contribution for the success of the command.

Prior to the delivery of his assumption message, Antonio was given the traditional honor arrival and met his command Staff Officers. —  Allen Abastillas
