Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Director Sr. Supt. Celso L. Bael has advised drivers and owners of vehicles including buses not to  stop while driving, especially at night time along the highway in Naga and Titay towns to avoid becoming victims of holdups or similar incidents

Bael said that according to his operatives, holduppers and robbers thrive and operate in the Naga and Titay areas. The modus operandi of  these lawless groups is to disguise and pretend themselves as passengers while wait ing for a bus or anya motorvehicle to pass with the intention to rob or stage a holdup.

Lawless groups also ride on a bus as passengers and ask the driver to stop at the area in Naga and Titay and when the bus or motorvehicle will stop, they will execute their  holdup plan.

Bael advised motorists to be always vigilant and alert because their lives are very prescious especially to their family.

“People can not predict the minds of lawless and criminals because they kill people without reason if you cross their paths,” he said

Bael added that drivers should always  be careful where to stop at night time because lawless elements and criminals are always waiting for victims.

He suggested bus drivers to drop their passengers only in terminals. —  Allen Abastillas
