The Lamitan Jaycees and the Save the Children of War Basilan Association headed by Dr. Arlyn Jawad Jumao-as, founder/president,  gave school supplies to 130 elementary pupils of Sibago Island last Saturday.

The activity was part of the Lamitan Jaycees and Save the Children of War Basilan Association project which is to let the children experience normal life and to  heal them of trauma after experiencing armed conficts in their community.

The children were fetched from Sibago Island and brought to the 19th Special Forces Battalion in Dangkalan Kulay Batu in Lamitan City where the  turnover of the school supplies was held.

One of the highlights of the activity was the “Condor Ride” which aims to heal the “wounds” of the mind and heart of the children. A wonderful experience for the future of Sibago Island, Jumao-as said.
