A 59-year-old woman was beaten to death by her live-in-partner who later seized her jewelry inside her house at Picnic Ground, Tugbungan last Tuesday afternoon.

Corazon Alam Medran, a widow, sustained multiple injuries in the body.

The suspect Basir Mansul, a native of Tongkil, Sulu, ran away with jewelry worth P1 million.

Initial investigation disclosed that Medran’s body was found at the porch of her house at past 5 p.m.

Police said that Mansul and Medran had engaged in a heated argument due to some misunderstanding. Mansul reportedly grabbed a tire wrench and struck it on Medran several times killing her.

Mansul took her assorted jewelry piecesworth P1 million, then escaped.

Men of the Tetuan police station under Supt. Haywien Salvado have readied charges against Mansul. – Dan Toribio Jr.
