District 1 Congressman Celso L. Lobregat took time out anew from his busy schedule to monitor the progress of the construction work on the By-Pass Road project.

Taking a break from his active participation in Congressional sessions and committee hearings, Lobregat visited the project sites in the West Coast section together with top officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) regional and district offices in Zamboanga City.

Lobregat’s recent on-site inspection covered the road construction which is underway in the Cawit-Tulungatung, Cawit-Baluno, and Cawit-Maasin portions, all within District 1.

An amount of Php 150-million was allocated for the By-Pass road Disctrict 1 section in 2014 and another Php 320-million for the same project in 2015 as provided in the General Appropriations Act (GAA) thru Lobregat’s representation.

Next year, the proposed budget for the District 1 By-Pass Road is Php 300-million, according to Lobregat. The District 1 road network stretches some 23 kilometers.

A separate funding is allocated for District 2 section from Lunzuran to Culiananfor a distance of some 11 kilometers.

Accompanying Lobregat in monitoring the on-going road construction were Z.C. District Engineer Cholie Roble, DPWH-9 Assistant Regional Director Engr. Nenita Robles, Engr. CayamombaoDia, Chief of Planning and Design Division, Engr. Artemio Marcera, project engineer, Z.C. By-pass Road and other officials. Also with the group was former District 1 Councilor Rodolfo Lim. — Jubels Santos
