The Land Transportation Office-9 Zamboanga City Licensing Office will start printing today the new  plastic license cards issued by the central office with its new equipment.

LTO-9 Director Aminola P. Abaton said the Zamboanga City Licensing Office  is  one of the 45 sites nationwide that were given priority  by LTO central office to print the new plastic license cards.

Abaton is optimistic that with its new equipment,  the district office will be able to print into plastic card license by the end of September all the backlog unprinted license documents.

The licensing offices in Pagadian City, Dipolog City and Ipil, ZAmboanga Sibugay will be among the  second batch with 60 sites.

According to Abaton, the new printing machine can print 1,000 plastic license cards with its new emboss colors when it is in operation. Unlike the old one which was only capable of printing 300 plastic license cards.

On the otherhand, Abaton said the Department of Transportation and Communication and the Land transportation Office have started forming a Technical Working Group for the adoption of Implementing Rules and Regulations ( IRR ) in relation to the new law signed recently by Pres. Benigno C. Aquino otherwise known as R.A 10666 or Children and Motorcycle Act of 2015. — Allen Abastillas
