Zamboangueño Jestoni Autida, the new WBA-Asia bantam weight champion, on Tuesday recounted how he defeated his opponent during their title baout in Hayai, Thailand last August 14.

Autida of the Alavar stable told reporters that with his height and arms’ length, he gained advantage in his fight against Ratzha Sak, the defending champion.

The fight ended with a Technical Knock Out (TKO) in the 8th round.

From first to 3rd round, Autida said he studied the style and movements of Sak before he started attacking him until the 8th round.

By becoming the new WBA-Asia champion, Autida said that it is not only him who won in the boxing match, but the entire city and the country in general.

On the other hand, District 2 Councilor Miguel “Mike” Alavar III commended Autida for a job well done in bringing the name of Zamboanga City in the successful and victorious boxing match.

Alavar said he has been bullish on Autida ever since he started climbing the ring in amateur boxing.

The councilor said that Autida is very disciplined while he was growing up.

Alavar added that he has been supportive of Autida as he believes that he has good future in the boxing career.

Autida is a product of Erbie Fabian’s  and Arsenio “Rawhide” Nuevo’s Golpe-Golpe na Barangay. He was trained by PO2 Dante Garcia.

Garcia said he took much efforts to train Autida until he became a professional boxer.
