Mayor Beng Climaco yesterday conveyed her profound gratitude to all civic groups here and abroad for their unceasing support to the people of Zamboanga City, particularly the disaster victims.

Specifically, Mayor Climaco thanked the Zamboanga City Chinese-Filipino Chamber of Commerce, the Tzu Chi Foundation Zamboanga and the United Arab Emirates for jointly undertaking the distribution of assistance to the fire victims in Barangay Talon-Talon yesterday morning.

“We really are very thankful to these groups [not to mention the UN partners since the siege] for their untiring efforts and resources to help us. All these mean to us that Zamboanga City is being helped internationally,” Climaco said after joining the distribution activity.

The fire victims received food packs and other relief goods, courtesy of the ZC Chinese-Filipino Chamber and Tzui Chi Foundation, an international humanitarian organization founded in Taiwan.

Climaco said she was particularly elated by the smiles and excitement of the children as they queued to receive a set of dress each from the United Arab Emirates through the efforts of Zamboanga Ecozone Chairman Christopher Arnuco.
