Two more suspected drug pushers were arrested in a buy-bust operation in the areas of jurisdiction of Police Station 8 (Sinunuc).

Nabbed were Alihgem Asakil alias Bon-Bon, 26, No. 4 in the drug watch list of Police Station 8 and Rap Sanjani Pedro, 24, of Southcom Village, Calarian. Both were arrested by policemen led by Chief Insp. Hingming Ladjali around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Confiscated from their possession were five sachets of shabu, drug paraphernalia and marked money.

The suspects were detained while the seized items were forwarded to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for examination.

Around 11 a.m.  Wednesday, men of Police Station 10 in Labuan led by Chief Insp. Raymond Sanson with Zamboanga Ecozone forest guards led by Bienvenido Abarro Jr., conducted a roving patrol and anti-illegal logging in Sitio Cabunegro, Upper Latap, Limpapa resulting in the recovery of 606 board feet of good lumber in different sizes.

It was learned that illegal loggers hid the cut trees amid grasses after they sensed the presence of the authorities.

The recovered cut lumber were turned over to the DENR for proper disposition. – Dan Toribio
