ARMM officials have embarked on a sports completion among the middle and top management of different line agencies.

DPWH-ARMM Secretary Don Mustapha A. Loong acknowledged that it is difficult to imagine given the media saturated world that there are many people out there who have not picked up on the idea that exercise is good for them.

“We all know that we should exercise more regularly, and most of us are aware of the benefits this would have for our health and happiness,” Loong stressed.

He said in order to counter the worsening challenge among young and old executives alike — the health issues: high blood, high uric, high sugar, fatty liver, overweight brought about by the very stressful schedules and workloads, ARMM developed the Basketball game.

A study conducted that persons who allow themselves to take periodic exercise breaks have noticed that in addition to the health benefits, morale and their sense of camaraderie have increased, and that they feel as if they are more a part of a community.

Employees above Salary Grade 19 are the ones eligible to play the 3 on 3 executives basket ball game.

Through this process, ARMM officials recognized that one of the key drivers of an agency’s success is the workers themselves – their physical and mental health and thus their ability to be productive.

DPWH ARMM now has a score of two wins and zero loss after winning over the Local Funds Team last week.
