Arrested murder suspect detained at Zambo city jail PDF Print E-mail

A man arrested by lawmen recently in Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay for the murder of an engineer in Vitali, Zamboanga City, was brought to the city jail for detention on Wednesday.

Stephen Baykeng is accused in the gun slaying of Engr. Felipe R. Nepumuceno and the wounding of two others.

A police report disclosed that  Baykeng shot Nepumuceno and two others on July 23, 2013 around 7:05  p.m. in a restaurant in Barangay Vitali.

Investigation revealed that Baykeng is a leader of gun-for-hire group and  is a resident of Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Baykeng was arrested Wednesday in Imelda during a joint operation of the Zamboanga City Special Operations Group, Philippine Center on Transnational Crime Western Mindanao Field Office, PAOCC, SPMKI and Regional Intelligence Unit- 9 Inspector General.

Baykeng’s arrest was covered with a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 16 of Zamboanga City under Criminal Case numbers 29084,29085 and 29086  for murder) and  frustrated murder.

The warrant of arrest for Baykeng was returned by the law enforcers to the Regional Trial Court Branch 16 and a detention and commitment order was issued by the court. — Allen Abastillas
